Wanda Bowman is Managing Director of Conquest Recruiting, a division of Harvard Group International, a global mid-size retained executive search firm that represents Fortune 500 and startup-to-mid-sized companies across more than forty industries. As a partner on the firm’s Consumer and Retail practices team, she leads contingent professional searches with a focus on mid-senior level management positions.
The majority of Wanda’s 20+ years of progressive HR experience was gained during her career at Georgia-Pacific, one of the world’s leading manufacturers and marketers of tissue, paper-based packaging, office papers, cellulose, specialty fibers, non-woven fabrics, building products and related chemicals including a number of familiar consumer brands that include: Quilted Northern®, Angel Soft®, Brawny®, enMotion®, Sparkle®, Mardi Gras®, and Vanity Fair®, as well as the Dixie® brand of disposable cups, plates and cutlery). GP’s Harmon subsidiary is among the world’s largest recyclers of paper, metal, and plastics.
In her most recent role, as Senior Director of Talent Selection at GP, she developed and led a talent selection Center of Excellence with an annual budget of $5.5M, upgraded talent and grew the organization from 12 to 90+ employees based on business demand of quality services provided that resulted in hiring over 7,000 employees annually. She used innovative talent sourcing and selection strategies to position GP as an employer of choice to provide a more diverse pool of candidates aligned with company culture resulting in higher quality hires in a shorter timeframe and improved operational effectiveness.
Wanda combines integrity, innovation, and exemplary operational skills to lead vision development, complex cross-company projects, P&L growth, process development and system implementations across diverse business segments and HR teams in centralized and decentralized organizations. She is a leader known for establishing positive rapport, trust and partnerships with internal business leaders and external partners. She is a role model in advancing company culture in employee selection, performance development, talent assessment, compensation and compliance working with leadership teams and employees at all levels throughout the company.
Wanda’s goal is to use her corporate HR and talent acquisition experience, along with a best-in-class recruiting team, to partner with hiring leaders on their specific talent needs and exceed her client’s expectations in the areas of candidate quality, speed of delivery and customer service.
Wanda holds a Master’s of Science in Human Resources Administration from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family at the lake.
